- Be Multipurpose
Knowing a little bit about everything gives you a competitive advantage in whatever field you specialize in.
For example1; The number one cause of buying above the price is the fact that many buyers lack basic information on the product or service they want to buy. All information is relaid to them by brokers, real estate agents, middlemen, consultants, advisers, etc. Yet, it is those who control information who get to determine the price.
Therefore, easy success requires you to be widely informed (multi-informed).
For example2; Every job has elements similar to all other jobs. A person who knows how to do many other things is capable of doing any new other things.
The skills and experience gained from other jobs become a source of reference, inspiration, and creativity for a current job. This is how you become multiskilled.
Both multiskill and multi-information make you multipurpose. There’s nothing you cannot do or get done easily.
2. Have Reliable Friends
Keeping in mind Niccolo Machiavelli who demonstrated low confidence in the loyalty of people to others, it’s important to cultivate good relationships from which comes good friends. Such that, if one friend pauses, or stops walking on the friendly path, there’ll be others left to walk with.
Also, have friends of different nature; let some be kind and others ambitious, some simple and others influential, some rich and others humble, some smart and others average, some near and others far, etc.
As you live you will find that, the support and motivation you need to make progress will sprout from within the circle of your friendships.
