We are looking for a Sr Accountant to build out the content required to bring new businesses that create earning opportunities and also help promote these opportunities to millions of digital entrepreneurs around the developing world.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our Finance Team. You will be responsible for general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1)Accounting:
Process Journal Transactions.
Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
Ensure that the account balances and bank statements are accurately reconciled.
Participate in the monthly close process, ensuring that all journal entries and account reconciliations assigned are completed accurately and on time.
Analyze financial information and provide insights to management.
2)Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Support the accounts payable and receivable functions.
Manage the process of invoicing customers, collecting payments, and managing vendor payments.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
3)Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
4)Mexico Taxes:
Knowledge of Mexican federal and payroll taxes.
5)Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.
Identify areas for cost reductions and operational improvements.
6)System Improvements:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Participate in system upgrades and integration of new systems and technologies, including process automation initiatives.
Experience, skills stack required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Advanced Excel skills: Pivot tables, Array formulas.
US GAAP knowledge.
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with a diverse team.
Preference to experience in QuickBooks Online.
Fluency in English (also Spanish is desirable
