Job Description:
Location: Fully remote, Central Europe Time Zone
Start date: To be defined
Languages: English is mandatory
The candidate is expected to have a senior level of proficiency in OpenStack technology, with at least five years of relevant experience and significant exposure to OpenStack cloud infrastructure implementation, as well as participation in back-end administration and support.
The consultant will work under the supervision of the OpenStack Core Infrastructure Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for implementing OpenStack cloud and related technologies i.e. MAAS, CEPH, and Kubernetes.
Create and maintain documentation for the OpenStack software stack related to its deployment and technical configurations, including technical diagrams.
Support UNIQCloud OpenStack implementation in routine system updates and maintenance tasks, including updating core cloud infrastructure components, applying patches, and performing system checks.
Collaborate with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to ensure our infrastructure solutions enable and meet their needs.
Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability, tuning systems for optimal performance.
Automate routine tasks with scripting languages and OpenStack components. Use orchestration tools to manage and automate deployments.
Stand-by services during weekends, official holidays, and outside business hours as required
Required Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in supporting OpenStack architecture, deployment and administration, with a strong focus on managing large-scale deployments.
Experience with automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management including Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
Strong knowledge of General-Purpose Programming Languages like Python or Bash.
Experience with bare-metal provisioning, particularly with tools like RH Satellite, Ironic or MAAS.
Strong knowledge of container technologies, including Orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker.
Hands-on experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery /continuous deployment
(CI/CD) pipelines.
Education and Certifications:
OpenStack Administrator
Certification in Linux (e.g. LPIC, RHCE)
Relevant industry certifications
