Data Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

 

Strong experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT).

 

Solid skills with one or more data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, Beam, Airflow).

 

Experience working with both batch and streaming data.

 

Proficiency in SQL and relational databases, plus familiarity with NoSQL/data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).

 

Knowledge of data modelling principles, schema design, and performance optimization.

 

Comfortable working with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) and their data services.

 

Strong and confident communicator in English.

 

Strong problem solver.

 

Comfortable with collaboration and open communication across distributed teams.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

 

Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines.

 

Process large datasets, both in batch and real-time.

 

Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure data needs are clearly understood and met.

 

Ensure data quality and integrity: implement testing, monitoring, and alerting around data flows.

 

Optimize performance: query speed, storage costs, resource usage.

 

Maintain documentation of data schemas, pipelines, and architecture.
