Started by former Xbox game designer Elan Lee and The Oatmeal’s founder Matthew Inman, Exploding Kittens and its family of games seek to reshape traditional game night into an entertaining person-to-person experience. Today, there are over 30 games available for purchase, an exclusive Exploding Kittens mobile game for Netflix subscribers, a free-to-play app, Kitty Letter, and an Exploding Kittens mobile app available iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch as well as an animated Netflix series titled ‘Exploding Kittens’ currently out now! Exploding Kittens makes games that are easy to pick up, impossible to put down! We’re looking for a Marketing + Content Strategist to help bring that energy to life across social and retail channels.

This is a social-first, copy-driven role for someone who knows how to make content work. You’ll write for social, craft sharp and conversational captions and scripts that actually perform, and create your own content from start to finish using tools like CapCut or Premiere. You’ll also help keep our team moving fast by coordinating shoots, managing communities, and bringing fresh ideas to the table. You don’t need to be a hardcore gamer, but you should have a connection to play and the instincts to write in a voice that ranges from family-friendly to totally unhinged.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

Write and edit high-performing content: Write across a range of formats, from TikTok hooks to product detail pages. You’ll craft platform-native captions and scripts that perform on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, tailoring tone and structure to each audience and format. You’ll also write short-form product video scripts for our ecommerce pages, making our games feel fun, fast, and easy to play. On the product detail page side, you’ll write clear, benefit-forward copy that’s SEO-aware (we’ll give you the tools), while keeping our voice front and center. Light video editing in CapCut or Premiere is a plus.

Create and publish social content: You’ll shoot and edit lo-fi, short-form videos for social media. Nothing polished or commercial, just content that feels fun, organic, and shareable. You’ll also manage the day-to-day operations of our social channels: scheduling and posting, jumping into comments and DMs, running Broadcast Channel giveaways, and flagging any customer issues to our support team. You’ll help keep our content consistent, responsive, and aligned with our brand.

Support shoots and content production: You’ll help plan and coordinate UGC-style content shoots, including sourcing props, casting creators, prepping gameplay materials, and supporting on-set logistics. Whether it’s a quick internal shoot or a larger planned production, you’ll help make sure everything runs smoothly and we get the content we need.

Track performance and surface insights: You’ll use Sprout and native platform analytics to track how our content is performing. This includes pulling data, identifying top-performing formats, and surfacing actionable insights that inform future content decisions.

Support influencer campaigns and contribute to strategy: You’ll assist with the logistics, tracking, and execution of influencer activations and product giveaways. You’ll also keep a close eye on trends in social media, the toy and game space, and adjacent pop culture. You’ll flag emerging games, creators, and trend
