The Finance team is actively seeking an International Payroll Specialist. This role demands expertise in international payroll regulations, coupled with hands-on experience in efficiently managing monthly/semi-monthly payroll processes on a global scale, in collaboration with outsourced payroll vendors. The ideal candidate thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, showcasing not only a commitment to data accuracy and analytics but also strong communication skills and effective vendor management. A key aspect of the role involves fostering continuous improvement and process simplification. Reporting directly to the International Payroll Manager, the incumbent will work closely with People Ops (HR), and external payroll vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and streamlined operations.
What would your day-to-day look like
Payroll Inputs: Verify payroll inputs for individual countries by consolidating information from various internal sources.
Payroll Administration: Execute and manage end-to-end payroll processing ensuring accuracy and compliance for individual countries. Maintain proper reconciliation process for monthly and semi-monthly payrolls.
Collaboration with People Ops: Partner closely with the People Ops team to confirm and incorporate all inputs related to contractual changes and variables, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon KPIs.
Payroll Compliance: Resolve compliance issues for states and federal regulatory agencies. Ensure local regulatory procedures are followed for new hires, payroll changes, and terminations.
Regulatory Awareness: Work closely with key internal stakeholders to keep teams informed and compliant with changes in local country-specific regulations.
Employee Queries: Handle and address employee inquiries related to payroll, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Proactively communicate updates and changes in the payroll process to foster transparency and understanding among employees.
Collaboration with Finance Team: Collaborate with People Ops and the wider finance team on monthly payroll processes.
Vendor Management: Partner closely with the International Payroll Manager and vendors to navigate local regulations related to payroll, stocks, taxes, and social security.
Escalation Handling: Provide support and manage escalations in a timely manner, effectively handling internal and external stakeholders in the process.
Project Collaboration: Partner on specific projects aimed at process improvements and automation, contributing to the overall efficiency of payroll operations.
The ideal candidate has
Experience: 2+ years of proficiency in International Payroll is essential.
Experience in US payroll and one or more of the following countries is a plus: Canada, Bulgaria, Colombia, France, India, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Japan, Australia and the UK.
Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of international payroll, including income tax, social security, pension/benefits, and awareness of payroll-changing legislation.
Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are crucial, especially when working with individuals possessing diverse skill sets.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust rapidly to changing demands and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Results-Oriented: A results-oriented professional with a reliable and proactive approach to tasks – someone who takes initiative and gets things done.
Deadline Management: Comfortable working with deadlines and performing effectively under pressure.
