Software Engineer
The position
We’re looking for a Senior Kotlin Engineer to join our HQ Tech team and help design and scale the systems that power our platform. You’ll work in one of our product teams, building the backend foundations for real-world staffing solutions used by thousands of businesses and hundreds of thousands of workers daily.
This is a fully remote position within the CET ±1 time zone.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable services that power Job&Talent’s staffing and workforce management platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to deliver new features across our backend systems..
Lead the development of critical components and drive architectural discussions.
Mentor engineers and advocate for best practices in Kotlin development, testing, and observability.
Continuously optimize performance, reliability, and scalability across our systems.
Take part in end-to-end ownership — from design to deployment and monitoring in production.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in backend development using Kotlin or Java.
Strong experience building and maintaining distributed systems at scale (1M+ users)
Proven track record delivering customer-facing applications.
Experience owning the full lifecycle of a feature: design, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Solid understanding of relational databases, transactions, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with monitoring systems — each team owns their product in production.
A pragmatic problem-solver who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges.

Experience with event streaming, such as Kafka
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
Experience with git and the GitHub workflow, which we use extensively at Job&Talent
Knowledge of Linux servers and No-SQL experience (Redis)
