We’re looking for a B2B Sales & Partnerships Lead to help us build Leland’s relationships with universities, corporations, firms, and other key partners. In this role, you will launch a B2B motion from scratch, turning Leland’s existing consumer business and inbound B2B interest into a viable revenue stream for the company. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how Leland delivers its value to institutional partners and build relationships that drive long-term growth.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead B2B sales strategy & execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to target universities, corporations, and firms that would benefit from Leland’s coaching, courses, and content offerings. You’ll identify high-potential sectors and build relationships with key decision-makers.
Close high-impact partnerships: Proactively seek and secure partnerships that extend Leland’s distribution, whether through strategic alliances, referral networks, or co-branded initiatives.
Develop tailored proposals: Work closely with internal teams to create customized proposals for potential partners, clearly articulating how Leland’s offerings can solve their specific needs and challenges.
Collaborate across teams: Work alongside the marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure our B2B partners have a seamless experience with Leland, from onboarding to ongoing support.
Build a pipeline: Establish and manage a pipeline of potential B2B clients and partnerships, maintaining relationships with prospects and nurturing them through the sales cycle.
Experiment and innovate: Continuously test new approaches to selling Leland’s B2B offerings, staying ahead of trends in corporate education, university partnerships, and career development to inform your strategy.
Negotiate deals: Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that drive growth for Leland while delivering value for our partners.
Analyze and report: Track sales performance and partnership outcomes, using insights to refine our approach and drive continuous improvement.
Build a B2B team that scales: While you will help us test this motion, you will ultimately help us build out a team for each of the potential B2B/partnerships motions we find success in.
Your skills & experience:
5-8+ years of experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or business development, ideally with experience selling into universities and/or L&D teams.
Proven track record of closing high-impact deals and developing long-term partnerships with universities, corporations, and other large organizations.
Expertise in building and managing sales pipelines, with experience working through complex sales cycles.
Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and close deals that benefit both parties.
Ability to collaborate across departments and work cross-functionally to deliver a cohesive B2B experience.
Strong understanding of the education and career development landscape, including trends in corporate training, university partnerships, and upskilling programs.
A hands-on, “scrappy” mindset—you’re not afraid to take on any task, but you can also drive high-level strategy and growth.
