Database Migration Engineer (Administrator) (Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration)

Mactores is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Migration Engineer (Administrator) to lead and execute the migration project from Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration. The ideal candidate will lead hands-on execution of migrating database tables, schema, and data from Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration. The candidate will also be responsible for performing DBA tasks on the PostgreSQL database post-migration. 

What you will do?
Migrate databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL, focusing on tables, schema, and data migration (one-time and ongoing changes) 
Actively participate in the hands-on execution of the migration process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and minimal downtime.
Undertake Database Administration tasks on the PostgreSQL database post-migration, including performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, database administrators, and project managers, to ensure a coordinated and successful migration.
Create comprehensive documentation for the migration process, including procedures, guidelines, and best practices. Maintain documentation for post-migration DBA tasks.
Identify and implement performance optimization strategies for the PostgreSQL database, ensuring responsiveness and reliability.

What are we looking for?
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Migration Engineer (Administrator) with a focus on Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects.
Extensive expertise in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL database management, including migration tools, techniques, and best practices.
Strong proficiency in SQL, database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
