Internal Systems Specialist
Job Purpose
The Junior Internal Systems Specialist will support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable colleagues to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to customers. This role is responsible for managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure and software within PaySpace, developing, and enhancing both customer and internal-facing applications within PaySpace, and providing technology tools that help create an operational efficient competitive advantage to drive strategic business growth. This role will be responsible for defining our internal technology objectives, assessing solution options, and devising solutions that help us meet operational requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Document all details and concerns obtained from stakeholders during the requirement gathering process and ensure agreement to the solution requirements and priorities.
Engage with the business and users to understand the requirements
Prepare the requirements specifications, prioritize, and obtain feedback and approval
Review current processes, identify problem areas, and control weaknesses and gaps.
Identify areas of improvement or opportunities in existing business processes and applications.
Identify and implement continuous improvements and efficiencies
Work with the business in the solution design process
Understand the challenges and problems in the specific area of the business and work with the business to ensure the solution is workable
Research best practice options and develop solution options for the business
Prepare and deliver recommendations and alternatives that address identified issues and potential trouble areas
Translate business needs into workable solutions and develop the system specifications required to address such needs
Plan, build, and implement new standard and custom business IT systems ensuring that all documentation for current and new solutions is updated.
Testing and delivery
Provide input and support into testing the systems
Facilitate user acceptance testing
Provide feedback on whether the developed solution meets the defined business requirements.
Assist in resolving any post-implementation issues.
Assist in the identification of risks and issues and ensure mitigation measures are put in place.
Review any changes to project scope and provide regular reports and updates to business
Validates remedial actions and ensure compliance with information security policy and regulatory requirements
Upgrades and Changes
Responsible for monitoring and planning upgrades of relevant software applications
Respond to change requests logged by the business and investigate possible solutions
User Support and Training
Ensure training material is developed for any new applications, changes, or updates
Ensure all new users are trained and understand the system and are using the system optimally
Drive any change management processes required once the solution is at the implementation stage
Troubleshooting and error handling with end users
Skills required
Sound knowledge of CRM/ERP/Integration systems
Experienced in SQL queries and integration with APIs
Experienced in Data Analytics and using BI tools such as Power BI
2-3 years experience in implementing ERP systems for medium to large enterprise.
Knowledge of Zoho One cloud application and the Deluge programming language will be beneficial
Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript will be beneficial
Experienced vendor engagement, both from a new business and a managed service point of view
Experience in managing infrastructure and operations
Extensive knowledge of infrastructure planning and operations, design, and deployment, as well as system life cycle management
Expert knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs
Basic knowledge of business operations and processes
Ability to improve operational efficiency and service delivery effectiveness across all lines of business and technology platforms
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport, and persuade others
Qualifications and Years of experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
B.Sc. , BCom or related I.T degree
Experience:
3 years post qualification, first-hand experience in an IT operational environment
