Siliconera: Freelance Anime and Manga Writer (Guides / News)

Responsibilities

Siliconera is the go-to place for international video game news, hands-on impressions, and interviews you won’t see anywhere else on the net. Currently, we’re looking for freelance writers who love the gaming industry to join our team and expand our coverage. This is a fully remote and contract position.

Working with Siliconera means having the opportunity to write about a variety of anime and manga topics, while writing news, feature articles, and listicles. Our team is enthusiastic and international. If you have deep knowledge of and/or experience writing about any of the games listed below, please mention that in your cover letter!

Responsibilities:

Write a minimum of 20 articles per month (But you’re welcome to write more!)
Follow trending topics and stay up-to-date on all things anime and manga
Pitch new article topics
Requirements:

At least 1+ years of prior editorial/journalistic writing experience
Deep knowledge of anime, manga and their related communities
Ability to write fluently in the English language
Familiarity with WordPress
Japanese fluency is a bonus

Please provide us with a resume, 1-3 relevant writing samples or a portfolio link (an application without a writing sample will not be considered ), and a cover letter that explains your expertise in video games, as well as which of the above games/topics you’re most knowledgeable about.

Rates: $11 to $33 per piece, depending on content type and length. Rates for international candidates may vary, based on location.
