Strapi
Product Manager
About the job:
Full-time
In the digital age, content rules.
More people are now involved in creating and distributing content than ever before. We have all become the media; the media has been marginalized, and brands are now broadcasters.
Everyone has a story to tell or something to sell. A need to create, connect, post, publish, showcase, and share.
So, say hello to Strapi! We exist to fuel the world’s creativity and productivity by unleashing the power of content.
Beyond a headless CMS, we are building an open composable content platform: infinite customization capabilities, the largest open-source community, and a broad open ecosystem.
🙏🏾 Why your role is important at Strapi
As a (Technical) Product Manager, you’re the one steering our product strategy ship. You start from figuring out the problem, finding a solution, making it happen, to getting users on board. You’re right in the middle of the business, tech & design, driving us towards our goals and what our company is all about. It’s not just about handling features; it’s about leading the team to get each feature done, on time, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
For this position, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the way in shaping the next version of our Cloud foundations. You’ll be part of the Cloud Platform squad, focusing mainly on developers. You will join a crew working on an early-stage product fulfilling a simple mission: provide the easiest experience to enjoy Strapi in production. Your job will be to spot opportunities and help other teams build on our Cloud, becoming a key player in growing our business.
Currently, our users complain about the speed to deploy (~8 minutes), the overall experience provided and the price. We started working on these problems and despite these issues, the launch of Strapi Cloud last year was a huge success.
Embracing our open-source foundation comes with unique challenges, but it’s a fantastic opportunity. You’ll have a wealth of feedback at your fingertips, providing valuable insights. Your influence will be unmistakable, and you’ll have the chance to engage daily with users shaping incredible applications with our product.
✌️ The product culture
A squad is composed of the following roles:
x1 Product Manager
x1 Product Designer
x1 Engineering Manager
x5 Software Engineering
x1 Technical Writer
x1 QA
We developed a Product Management Framework that split our development process into 10 different steps where the ownership and expectations are clearly identified. Each squad is free to use Kanban, SCRUM or any other AGILE frameworks.
The product managers meet once a week to share our learnings, questions and doubts about last week. Our cadence isn’t set in stone, we adjust the frequency of our gatherings in favor of performance. Moreover, we meet every two weeks to discuss long-term topics, we called this meeting Product Vision Sync. On a monthly basis, we meet all the other teams to improve our collaboration and listen to their concerns (Support, CS, Sales, Marketing). Last but not least, we recently switched to a new framework to define our quarterly goals, we no longer use the OKRs, we are experimenting with the NCTs.
📋 What will my job look like on a daily basis?
