What are you going to do?
You will have the opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and growth-oriented environment, at an independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting focused on the most trusted source of fast, accurate, unbiased news in all formats and the essential provider of the technology and services vital to the news business.
Occupy a unique position in the market, being in charge of the app on the Android side, leading the Android team, and overseeing the app’s efficiency in terms of functionality and views.
What will help you succeed
Tech lead experience (3+ years) leading initiatives with the ability to course-correct as needed
5+ years of Engineering Experience (3+ years of experience building native Android applications using Kotlin and Java)
Broad and deep understanding of Android’s architectural components (Room, LiveData, Jetpack, etc.) and the MVVM architecture.
Experience working with RESTful APIs using JSON.
Understanding of multi-threading, concurrent programming, and/or performance optimization
Proven working knowledge of software engineering techniques, methodologies, practices, and ability to develop and ship complex high-quality software products
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work closely with others both within and adjacent to the existing team
Ability to consistently evaluate current technical approaches to continue to be industry best-of-class
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
