We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our month-end close process. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent analytical skills.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
Prepare and analyze key month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, high-volume bank reconciliations, and overhead allocations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
Manage monthly accruals, with a primary focus on the R&D expense function.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and note disclosures in accordance with IFRS.
Prepare monthly variance analysis and commentary on financial results compared to prior periods, presenting findings in close meetings.
Prepare complex accounting entries, including those pertaining to intercompany, leases, fixed assets, intangible assets, prepaid expenses, and tax.
Develop and maintain relationships with Operations, Data, FP&A & Treasury teams to ensure seamless communication and accurate reporting.
Support preparation of sales tax returns and assist with government tax audits.
Participate in year-end audits and other audits, preparing supporting workpapers and promptly addressing questions.
Contribute to team projects, including system enhancements, implementations, reconciliations, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure data integrity.
Manage and prepare monthly transfer pricing working papers to support intercompany transactions in compliance with policies and regulations.
Identify and implement process improvements and automation within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Conduct accounting research, draft memos, document new policies and procedures to ensure consistency and clarity.
Assist with ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite).
Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Floqast, Workiva).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
