Job Description
Concretely, what will your position look like?
We’re hiring a developer to lead the technical development of our new Identity Migration vertical, one of our most requested features from our customers. This is a first for ShareGate in the infrastructure migration space, with the goal of addressing the complex challenges of transferring user identities and access.
In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will be responsible for the architecture, defining the long-term technical vision, and actively participating in the recruitment and integration of developers who will form your work team.
Your responsibilities:
Lead the technical design, architecture and delivery of the identity migration functionality, ensuring its long-term scalability, security and maintainability.
Build robust integrations with enterprise identity systems like Active Directory and Entra ID, to ensure reliable and frictionless user and identity migrations.
Collaborate with Product, Design teams and directly with customers to validate solutions and align technical direction with product objectives.
Help grow the future migration team by participating in the recruitment and integration of new developers.
Be a visible technical leader: champion long-term design choices, mentor colleagues, and influence ShareGate’s engineering practices.
A typical week?
You’ll spend your week advancing high-impact technical work: leading design discussions, writing code, solving complex identity migration challenges, and collaborating closely with the Product and Design teams. With a light meeting load and mostly asynchronous collaboration, you’ll have the space you need to prioritize deep work and problem-solving.
At the same time, you will actively participate in the long-term growth and development of your team. In partnership with your manager, you will contribute to the recruitment, integration, and mentoring of new recruits.
Who is the team you are going to join?
You will be the first permanent developer in this new team and will take technical leadership from the outset.
Upon arrival, you’ll work closely with a Senior Developer and another Staff Developer who will help you find your bearings and establish your technical foundation. With your existing manager, product manager, and product designer, you’ll have the opportunity to help build your own development team.
What are the next challenges awaiting your team?
Your first goal will be to deliver a secure MVP that’s ready for testing by a select group of client partners. You’ll then continue to rapidly iterate toward a broader launch, incorporating customer feedback.
At the same time, you will grow the team and set up a high-performance environment capable of supporting this new strategic functionality.
And all this on which technical stack?
You will work on a mature .NET (C#) codebase with a WPF interface. ShareGate’s development ecosystem is built on robust tooling, automated CI/CD pipelines, and rigorous engineering standards.
Qualifications
Deep expertise in identity systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, or alternatives like Okta, Ping Identity, OneLogin or LDAP-based directories.
Technical leadership experience in developing large-scale enterprise systems – from design to delivery.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to align technical and non-technical stakeholders by popularizing complex topics.
Advanced proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop developers.
Cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Product and Design partners.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and hybrid or desktop application environments an asset.
