Context
timbuktoo Africa Innovation Foundation is a pan-African innovation initiative anchored in UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa. Its mission is to support African founders to start, grow, and scale targeting 100,000 enrolled startups, 1,000 scaled companies, and the mobilisation of USD 1 billion for African innovation.
The Foundation operates across a growing portfolio of programmes spanning AI for development, climate innovation, digital public infrastructure, and startup ecosystem development, supported by a network of thematic Innovation Hubs and University Innovation Pods (UniPods) across the continent. As the Foundation scales its programme delivery and partnerships, it seeks to engage with likeminded brands from private and public sector in order to create brand partnerships. A brand partnerships strategy exists and the volunteer will support in emailing (through a provided team email), brand partners on the list and setting up meetings, with an email to conclude 2 brand partnerships per month per role.

Task description
We are looking for 2 experienced and creative Online Volunteers who will support our brand outreach and communications team with the development of a brand outreach/social media campaign. In close collaboration with the communications team, the Online Volunteers will:
– Discuss and define the campaign’s target audience, desired goals, and outcome
– Analyze target audience and develop an audience profile
– Define specific message/s and medium/tool to convey message/s to the target audience
– Develop the campaign’s implementation plan
The Online Volunteer will be provided with material and other sources to develop the outreach/social media campaign as required and available. For close coordination and discussion, the Online Volunteer is expected to be available for calls via Skype/Zoom/Microsoft Teams.
This assignment provides Online Volunteers with an opportunity to develop and strengthen their skills in communication, networking within the communications team and other learning experiences.
Assignment requirements
Required experience
Candidates should have previous experience in campaign or strategy development with excellent communication and writing/editing skills. Good knowledge of online marketing tools and channels, as well as experience with designing outreach/marketing tools is highly desired.
A degree in marketing, marketing management, communications, or related fields is considered an asset.

English, Level: Fluent, Required
