C #1 CREATE
Every artificial thing you see, touch, smell, feel, hear, taste came into existence because someone had created it. From music to cars, trains, machines, radios, drinks, snacks, tvs, towels and bedsheets, pencils and books, shoes and clothes, roads and satellites, laptops and mobile phones, doors and tiles, therapies and medicine, dolls and toys, schools and subjects, nations and cities to moments and events.
The basket ball was created by James Naismith, Home security system(door camera, microphone, automatic knob and monitor) was co-created by Mary Van Britany Brown, the Telephone was created by Alexander Graham Bell, the 3 Traffic light signal was created by Garret Morgan, the Light bulb was created by Thomas Edison, Refrigerated truck(s) was created by Frederick McKinley Jones, the 300 uses of peanuts were created by George Washington Carver, the Printing press was created by Johannes Gutenberg, electricity was created by Benjamin Franklin, Thermometer was created by Gabriel Fahrenheit, Automatic elevator doors were created by Alexander Miles, Hair care products were created by Madam C.J. Walker, etc.
It’s amazing! To know that the things we use every day, without which life would be dark, dull, boring, inconvenient and ineffective were and are invented by other people like us. Some of the above inventors were going through hard times by the time of their inventions. Some were orphans, others were struggling with mental health problems, others were slaves, others were poor, others were illiterate, others were sick, others were facing eviction, others were in jail, etc. This makes creativity the best natural gift a human being is born with. It enables people to build bridges were they see walls, to forge relationships were there is conflict, to erect dikes were they see floods, to go to space for exploration, to produce needed items for market, to connect people where there is isolation and to find solutions where there are problems.
You are a creator by default. You create jokes and stories in a conversation, you create events for others to join, every day you create moments for others to experience, you create new ideas and you can choose to implement them, you create thoughts and can choose to share them in speech or writing. You create styles and new ways of doing things and much more.
In this year wake up every day a creator, ready to create into your mind ideas and into existence new needed things useful for yourself and everybody else around you. Facing a problem, create a solution. Facing a challenge, create a solution. Need something, create and make it happen. Desire something, create and make it happen. Wish something, create and make it happen. Don’t sell yourself short, there’s nothing you can’t create into existence as long as you can conceive it in your mind. Don’t cheat others in this world because as you already know, you are using their inventions every day. Therefore, you have to do the same, create.
Third world countries are not that far behind because the world is unfair or because God, Allah or Nature forsaken them. It is rather because they have not yet got to a level of excellence where creativity drives progress. Developed countries are far ahead because their people have embraced their creativity. They create the very things that make their nations and regions highly developed. Development, whether of an individual or a nation or a continent is not the magical divine ‘manna‘ which falls from heaven — it is rather a result of creating new needed and desirable things into existence on a daily basis.
Therefore let it be public knowledge, that the only real difference between developed countries or continents and their poor counterparts, between wealthy people and their poor fellows is the extent to which their creativity is employed and applied. Look no further, you have both your paradox and remedy. Get to work, create.
Don’t let procrastination hold you back. Neither let laziness nor hopelessness chain you down. In your moment of despair, remember all the things other people( just like you) have created and how you use all those things to make your life better. Decide there and then to give your share of contribution by creating according to your abilities things you and others need. The things you are expected to create can be as simple as intelligent conversations about important topics or a moment of support for somebody else or starting a new business or innovating an old way of doing something or recording and sharing a good song or painting or dancing or writing a book or visiting the sick or donating to the poor or appreciating the hard work of others, or excelling at your job or becoming a client, etc.
Imagine life without the things you need and use which others created then let it inspire you to give your share of contribution to this world.
Somebody like you invented electricity! Another invented a light bulb! What about you?
Somebody like you invented the traffic light signal! What about you?
Somebody like you invented a car! Another invented the modern roads! What about you?
Somebody like you invented a mobile phone! Another invented software systems! What about you?
Somebody like you invented sandals! Another invented trousers! Another bijou! What about you?
Somebody wrote a book! Another invented a pen, a laptop, printing and publishing! Another makes furniture! What about you?
Somebody started the restaurant! Another cooks new dishes! Another makes wine! Another grows grapes! What about you?
