Position description

Access Partnership is the world’s leading tech policy consultancy. We believe tech policy must treat all stakeholders fairly. Our mission is to make sure as many people as possible have access to transformative technologies without eroding competition or consumer choice. We work with companies to enable and optimise their participation in markets across the globe, and advise governments on how best to regulate existing and emergent technologies. Our firm uniquely mixes public policy and engineering competencies to achieve our goals. We have offices in London, Brussels, Singapore, Washington DC, Abu Dhabi and Johannesburg—and are growing.

We analyse the opportunities and risks that existing and emergent technologies pose, identify the benefits and develop impactful strategies for adopting technologies across economic sectors – within and across borders, and create the requisite enablers for technology innovation and adoption. Based in multiple offices globally, our team members provide expertise and experience across the major advanced economies and the Asia Pacific (APAC), MENA, and Latin America (LatAm) regions.

  • Direct, develop and contribute to research, position papers and policy briefs, presentations, and other activities (including but not limited to press releases,  project reports, engagement plans, high-level policy narratives, opinion editorials, short articles, marketing collateral) to provide analysis and critical thinking on a range of digital economy issues and policy developments relating to the MENA region (and beyond)
  • Plan, develop and execute client events including local and regional forums, policy roundtables, workshops and other events hosted jointly with third party organisations, including the development of agendas, scheduling of meetings, outreach to speakers and participants, preparation of presentations, and management of event logistics

What you'll need:

  • Fluent Arabic language capability
  • Exceptional written communications skills (in English), including ability to synthesise and clearly explain policy and regulatory issues and other complex issues for different audiences
  • 1+ years of experience in public policy, government, multilateral organisation, tech industry, research consulting or similar discipline
  • Experience with international/multilateral organisations, including the United Nations (UN), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Bank Group or others
  • Strong understanding of the digital economy, political and regulatory landscape in the MENA region, with direct on the ground experience in the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, or other Middle Eastern countries, and/or direct experience with the Gulf Cooperation Council and/or League of Arab States and associated agencies
  • Ability to complete tasks independently (under guidance) while working collaboratively as a team, including (but not limited to) communicating effectively within and across teams to ensure objectives are met, strong alignment across team members, clients/stakeholders and projects, and proactive sharing of knowledge and experiences
  • Willingness to work across multiple time zones, and travel for client/stakeholder engagements, conferences and events, especially to the MENA region (and beyond)
  • Degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Social Science or a related discipline

What we offer you:

We work in a flexible hybrid model, typically aligning each employee to one of our global offices, with each person spending 2 days per week in the office, and 3 days remote. This role is aligned to our London office.

Our diverse international client base of technology giants, start-ups, governments and multilateral organisations will provide the opportunity to work on multiple international projects on behalf of some of the industry’s leading companies and policymakers.
